Kaza, also spelled Kaze, Karze, Karzey, is a town and the subdivisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the western Himalayas in the Lahaul and Spiti district of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

Climate
Kaza features an extreme, cold, and arid high-altitude desert climate with brutally freezing winters and short, pleasant summers. Daytime summer temperatures hover around 12° C to 25° C, while January routinely plunges to a biting -30° C. Because of its harsh weather and heavy snowfall, the region remains largely inaccessible from late October to March.
